About Michael & Michelle LaLonde

"We have taken the traditional handbag to the next level, so it becomes ornamentation, like a favorite piece of jewelry-- a valued piece destined to be enjoyed and cherished for years to come. Collectors purchase our handbags for something truly unique to add to their daytime and evening wardrobes."

The one-of-a-kind and limited-edition handbags crafted by Michael and Michelle LaLonde are a rare combination of sculpture and contemporary fashion. With sophisticated colors, the shapes are sometimes bold and angular, other times soft and curvy.

Michelle was previously a professor of handbag design at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Michael learned to make leather accessories alongside his father during the 1970s. Working together for the past 31 years, the duo has redefined wearable art handbags, with an emphasis on quality craftsmanship.

The artists create their handbags one at a time from only the finest leathers and fabrics, using traditional fiber methods such as silk-screening, quilting, trapunto, appliqué, beading, pleating, weaving, and embroidery.
